Confidence-boosting meditations for women that want to WIN

While women are certainly not alone in the struggle of the mind, the workplace often has additional challenges for women and minorities. As a Human Resources profession with over 20 years of experience, a Leader within organizations for over 15 years, and a coach and consultant for organizations across the globe for several years, I have discovered some common meditations or thoughts to that help women get unstuck from various challenges they are facing within the workplace. As we celebrate Women’s History Month in March, it’s my pleasure to be able to share these meditations with you:

  • What I do today is simply one way I get to outwardly express who I am. If what I do changes, I can still take the person I am today - my skills, my character, my strengths, my experience, my intuition, my connections with others - with me wherever I go next and find new ways to express who I am there.

  • I get the final say in who I am becoming, not my circumstances or other people. What filters am I using to ensure I am becoming the person I want to be?

  • There are endless ways I can create value today. The success of others does not limit the opportunities ahead for me.

  • Emotions come for a variety of reasons. When something feels personal, it’s an opportunity to ask myself, “What’s the meaning of this to me that it affects me in this way?”

  • I get to be the woman that encourages someone else today. What a privilege!

  • It’s important to give back and recognize myself and not just my team. When was the last time I paused to celebrate even the smallest of my successes? (… and to thank God for what he’s doing in my life)

  • I have made a difference in the lives of many people from my network (recall, and then call them up and celebrate those memories together to make the connection deeper)

  • Things feel difficult right now, but that’s okay because it’s a signal that I am stretching toward a place I have not been before. What new muscles am I exercising right now? (… and what is God up to?)

  • Conversations about my value and wages are just like any other open-ended conversations. They have a starting point, mutual discussions to gain clarity, and a joint understanding at the end.

Give these meditations a try, and see how they might change your perspective in the moment.
